How to upload homework to Box
I have also made a how-to video demonstrating these instructions.
Login to Box
- Go to https://uofi.account.box.com/login
- Click “Continue”.
- Select “University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign”.
- Enter your name and password, and do two-factor authentication if required.
Uploading homework
- Find and click on the folder “Math 481 Uploads”.
- There is a subfolder for each assignment, e.g. “Homework 6”. Open the appropriate one.
- Use the “Upload” button near the upper right of the window to upload your document.
Filename convention
- Please use the convention firstname-lastname-hw-number.pdf
- For instance, if I were uploading homework 6, I would use the filename “james-pascaleff-hw-6.pdf”
- The filename convention is important because we need to be able to identify easily who each file belongs to, and which assignment it is. It is also important so that multiple students do not upload files with the same name, thereby destroying each other’s work.
- When uploading homework, you will not be able to read other files in the folder. This is necessary due to privacy regulations.
- If you need to correct a submission, just upload the new version, overwriting the old one.
- Please be mindful that you do not overwrite other students’ files.
File formats
- We are able to accept all standard file formats, but PDF is preferred.
- If you are taking photographs of hand-written pages, please find a way to combine the pictures into a single PDF file. There are online services that can do this. Please let me know if you need help.
